As we bid farewell to 2022, it’s time to plan our 2023 reading challenges. I’m setting myself a target of 40 new books to read on Goodreads in addition to the 11 individual challenges below. I also want to read all the unread books currently gathering dust on my bookshelves (about 35 in total). Do you have any reading challenges planned for 2023?
- A book documenting a non-human perspective
- A book with a name in the title
- A modern re-telling of a classic
- A book published in 2023
- A book about someone taking a trip or a holiday
- A book with a title beginning with the first letter of your given name
- A book whose main character loves to read
- A book that takes place in at least two different decades
- A book with more than one author
- A book with the name of a town or city in the title
- A piece of Brontë-inspired fiction

Glad to have found your blog and coincidentally one of my goals for 2023 is to read and in some cases reread all 7 of the Bronte novels. I am particularly interested in rereading Wuthering Heights which I read many years ago and it’s a brilliant book. I knew that as I was reading it but it went over my head a bit. So I am thinking a second reading will help me see things I didn’t see the first time.

Thank you for reading 🙂 And yes, re-reads of Wuthering Heights are always interesting.

Oh, I like these prompts for reading in 2023! I may borrow them, I think…
My plans? To let certain memes and events help plan my choices but not to let them disappoint if I don’t get to complete them! Hopefully there’ll be a range of genres and a smattering of new publications, plus a couple of events I always commit to. And there’ll be those missing Brontë titles to dig out, hopefully! Happy New Year to you. 🙂

Happy New Year to you too! Hopefully some of the unread books on my shelf help me with my prompts 🙂

I completed my goal of reading at least 30 books this year. In 2023, I’m going to try and read 40. Sadly, I only read one Bronte book so I’ll read at least five in 2023. More Brontes in 2023 for me.

Well done on completing your 2022 challenge! And more Brontës is always a good thing 😉

A month late but I love your goals, especially the ‘book that takes place in at least two different decades’. That one sounds like a real challenge! I have a few goals but my main ones are read more off my shelves and finish some series!

I’ll probably end up doing it accidentally haha. I was inspired by my own book which takes place in two decades 😁
